Spam Messages As some of you may have noticed, our first bogus account - FlozoMek - was created for the purpose of spam (aka, trying to lure people to unsafe websites for the purposes of buying Viagra and the like).
What these people do is completely unacceptable. If you ever see this happening, please let Yuko, bryantjj, CelebiMew, or myself know immediately so that we can delete the account, ban the user, and ban the IP address.
Thanks everyone for your help in keeping this forum safe!

What is the point in coming here? I mean no offence to you Matkin22 but its not a particularly large forum and it is growing but wouldnt it make more sense to go to a larger forum.

Very true Phoenix, but spammers go wherever they can. Depending on the forum, they can attract a large range of age groups. For example, a forum for the band Dire Straits would probably attract older people, and in the case of a Pokemon forum its a safe bet that most people are under 20 ;).
Spammers think that younger people, aged 8-14 for example, are more likely to click on a link than older people. How many 8 year-olds know what Viagra is?
Whenever somebody clicks on their link, a couple of things happen, which is very good for the spammers. The first is that the spammers make money from each time a person visits their website. The second is that spyware, adware, even viruses and trojans get put onto the computer, and seriously damage or steal information from it.
If anybody is on any other forums, I'm sure you've noticed that places like Bulbagarden, and probably even Serebii and Neopets have had their own problems. Even if a forum is tiny, spammers will still target it, because if even one person clicks that link, its a job well done. A lot of the time, its not even a person who does it, its a computer created and controlled account.
Believe me, I was as surprised as you when I saw the post, especially since I've tried to make this website as secure as possible.

Well Matkin, you shouldn't feel responsible! We all want to make this forum good and big and when someone crazy targets us then we'll overcome it! These things just happen. Let's just hope it doesn't happen again!
