Forum Rules There aren't many rules here, but the ones we have, we expect to be followed. They are really very simple, and shouldn't affect most users unduly.
1) Try not to swear to much. Yes, it's allowed, but its unpleasant to read. It may be allowed, but don't swear at others - it causes wasted time for the Moderators and the Admin. It is so much simpler to avoid swearing.
2) Do not abuse copyright laws. Please provide links to any work that is not your own. This includes facts any and all written statements, such as episode recaps and/or reviews, pictures/art, videos, etc. We don't want to be closed down because people broke the law.
3) Do not attack or villify any other members. It is hurtful for the receivers of the insults, and people do not want to read such things. If you feel someone has been attacking you, please report the incident immediately to a Moderator/Administrator, and direct them to the post in question. Tell them which board and topic the incident occurred in, and who the user was.
4) Do not link to websites that contain offensive content. Pokémon is a cartoon enjoyed by people of all ages. As the site grows, there are bound to be younger users who are members of the forum. Linking to inappropriate websites will not be tolerated. Do not spam.
5) Some of the boards (primarily the Shipping board) may contain content that is sensitive to some members. Please be careful when posting on there.
6) We now have boards for the all the games - please do not post false cheats/codes on here. Constant posting of fake cheats/codes will result in expulsion from the forum.
7) Please be aware that any mispellings, or awkwardly worded sentences may not be due to the fault of the poster. There are already members from at least six countries - Canada, the US, the UK, Belgium, Holland, and Hong Kong. Any typos may just be due to the language barrier. If English is not your first language, I suggest you try using a service such as Babel Fish or World LingoYuko Edit:
8.) Do /not/ post short messages. I can't stress enough how annoying this is. Messages such as "ok", "hi", or "that's ok" are looked down upon because it just clogs up board space and people will have nothing to say back to it. Put a little more thought into your posts - we don't want to see spam all over the place. So if you're one of the people that posts messages like that, don't be surprised if we don't pick you to be a moderator for the site if we ever need one in the near future. : P
Matkin22 Edit
9) Do not make any comments that vilify or express hatred towards people of specific nationality, religion, culture, or skin colour.
Rule Violations:
The first time a rule is broken, the offending member shall be given a warning.
The second time a rule is broken, the offending member will be given a two-day ban.
The third time a rule is broken, the offending member will be given a two-week ban.
Any following rule violations will result in either a month-long ban, or removal from the forum at the discretion of the administrators and Moderators.
If rule nine is broken, the offending member will be automatically removed from the forum without the penalties of three prior violations applying.
These nine rules shouldn't be a problem for the vast majority of users. Please enjoy the forum!

The rules have been updated - we're going to be a bit more relaxed, and less stringent. One other change not mentioned in the rules is that members will now be given two warnings instead of one.

I have added a rule. Please follow it.. otherwise I won't like you. XD;
PYRO73- 11-26-2006
well yuko sometimes people want to acknowledge your post so it is much more logical to say "ok" rather than "yes i did find that your last post was meaningful for 'input subject'" because a forum is about posting your views not about reaching a huge quota of words, letters and characters.
p.s. im not being annoying, smug, vindictive, snipy etc if you read it that way im just expressing my views
CelebiMew- 11-26-2006
THANK YOU SO MUCH YUKO! its about time a rule like this was made, I dont find it difficult to not write "ok" so i Dont see why anyone else should. THANKS AGAIN.

Ehh, well, if there's nothing to say but "okay" they should wait until someone else posts something so they'll have two posts to reply to instead of one. And they shouldn't reply to every single post, either. XD If there's not much to say, then don't say anything at all.
*Which is why I don't reply to some comments. XD*
Glad you agree, CelebiMew. ^^
JamesXXXIII- 11-26-2006

The rules have been updated. There is one new rule which I should have included from the start, but felt I didn't need to at the time. Also, penalties for rule violations have been added. These penalties may change depending on the circumstances.
Now that I'm on holidays from school, I'll (hopefully) be able to spend a lot more time on here.

Good ideas and good ninth rule!
